About Steel Manhole Covers & Frames
Steel-Skirt Manhole Covers
Steel-skirt frames provide the structural strength needed for installations that see vehicle traffic or heavy equipment loads. The steel frame anchors the cover securely in the surrounding concrete or asphalt, preventing shifting or settling over time.
We carry round steel-skirt covers from major manufacturers including EMCO Wheaton, in sizes ranging from 8” to 24” diameter.
When to Choose Steel Over Poly Skirt
Use a steel skirt when the cover will bear vehicle or equipment traffic. Poly skirts are lighter and suited for non-traffic areas like monitoring well access points.
