This collection covers 37 products from T&T Tools, Cherne®, and Aqua Bailers — manhole hooks and cover-lifting tools, groundwater sampling bailers, gaskets, and installation hardware. Crews typically carry a manhole hook or cover lifter to remove the lid, a pry bar for stuck covers, and task-specific tools like sampling bailers or inspection gear. Confined-space entry adds gas detection, ventilation, and retrieval equipment — that safety gear comes from your safety supplier; we stock the lifting and sampling tools.

From top down: the cover (or lid) sits in the frame; below that is the chimney or riser section, adjusted to grade with riser rings; the cone tapers into the barrel, the main vertical chamber; and at the bottom, the bench and channel direct flow through the structure. Steps or ladder rungs run down the barrel wall.

A manhole insert is a dish or pan — usually stainless steel or plastic — that sits in the frame under the cover to stop rainwater and debris from entering the sewer through pick holes and the cover seat. Municipalities install them as a low-cost inflow-and-infiltration (I&I) fix on covers in ponding-prone areas.

Manholes are commonly classed by depth: shallow manholes (roughly 2–3 feet, often at the start of a sewer run), normal manholes (around 4–5 feet), and deep manholes (anything deeper, usually with heavier covers and access steps). Cover and frame requirements scale with depth and with the traffic loading above the structure.
