When Square Is the Right Shape
Square covers are used where the underground opening is rectangular or where a larger access area is needed than round covers provide. Utility vaults, equipment chambers, and large-scale infrastructure access points typically require square openings for equipment passage and worker access.
Configurations
- Lay-in lid — Standard removable lid for routine access
- Hinged locking lid — Stays attached to the frame, locks in the closed position. Faster for frequent access and prevents the lid from being separated from the vault.
