Cherne® 18" Aluminum T-Handle Gripper® Plug (Non By-Pass)*

The Cherne 18" Aluminum T-Handle Gripper (part #272-888) is the largest mechanical T-Handle Gripper available — a 30 lb aluminum plug for full shutoff on 18" concrete and clay sewer pipe. Rated for 8.7 PSI / 20 ft. head pressure. Fits 18" concrete and clay pipe only (usage range 17.7"–18.3" ID). Chemical-resistant neoprene O-ring and zinc-plated steel T-handle provide reliable sealing in large-bore underground pipe.

Applications

Full shutoff on 18" concrete and clay trunk sewer lines, complete isolation for major pipe repairs, and construction blocking. At 30 lbs, this is a two-person plug. For bypass capability, use part #272-998. For larger pipe or higher pressures, transition to the Cherne I-Series pneumatic line.
