The gripNlock is the only watertight hinging monitoring well cap in the environmental industry. Its claim to fame is it's tamperproof design, it has versatility that no other cap or plug on the market has today in the environmental industry. Enviro Design Products, Inc (EDP, Inc.) purchased the cap from the original manufacture 8 years ago when it was known only as the Snap Cap. EDP, Inc. redesigned it to work more efficiently and launched it back into the market as a 3” tall hinging cap. The gripNlock is still recognized by its original trade name as the Snap Cap, because of its high usage during the mid 80's through the mid 90's. And even now, it’s similar design and features have not changed but been improved to add simplicity to installation but changed what we felt may have always hindered some of the original performance.
We are currently reestablishing the cap with some of our oil companies, and several artesian States. Before the original manufacture changed direction and took the Snap Cap off the market, the major oil companies found the Snap Cap to be a protective investment. They were written into many as-built drawings, and over the year’s they turned out to be the longest lasting operating cap on the market. Mallet driven installed, the new "gripNlock", is a redesigned version of the old Snap Cap. This new tamperproof Cap is instantly watertight and secured when tapped in place.
Above and below grade monitoring well locking cap.
2" and 4" (fits SCH 40 & 80)
Heavy duty Nylon construction, w/ high impact, heat resistant, UV protected w/ chemical resistant properties. This cap is completely inert.
Multiple concentric rings placed in the base of the cap provide maximum security and added watertight integrity to the well. The top of the cap has a large API warning label where a well #___ space is provided. The cap is colored in a highly recognizable orange for both below grade and above grade protective riser pipes.
